Custom-built in 1961, the Laurier Heights house had been partly updated sometime in the 80s. And that showed. Original bathrooms with painted wood cabinets mixed with gold-flecked wallpaper in the living areas and peach laminate countertops in the kitchen.
We brought this house back to its roots and into the 21st century at the same time, first restoring the space to its original architectural plan. Almost everything interior was updated: flooring, lighting, wall coverings and bathrooms. The functional kitchen layout was retained, but everything else was redone: appliances, cabinets, hardware and countertops. We did the same for a second, basement kitchen. And we called in restoration experts to bring highlights such as the imposing walnut railing and the marble terrazzo entrance and floating fireplace hearths back to their original glory.
